Job Description :

  • Provide customer support to faculty, staff, students or visitors who are seeking services, assistance, information or problem resolution from a Client office, department or program.

  • Provide customer service in person, over the phone, by email, or on the web.

  • May work in a wide variety of campus settings, or at special events that are on or off campus.

  • Handle routine as well as complex and specialized requests from Client community members, alumni, applicants, or visitors.

  • Skilled at troubleshooting and problem resolution.

  • Maintain accuracy and security of confidential information.

  • Must have positive belief that the customer comes first, strong communication skills and experience working with the public.

  • Must be able to generate positive and professional interactions even in challenging situations, and remain calm, poised and resilient. Strong willingness to learn about the services, programs or operations of the Client department where assigned.

  • Technical aptitude to learn new software applications as needed.

  • Previous experience in a university setting is helpful, as is ability to navigate on Client campus.

Customer Service & Student Engagement:

  • Deliver in-person support for student and partner-related requests at the Spangler Service Counter from 8:00am 11:00am and 1:00pm- 5:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

  • Candidates will staff a maximum of four shifts per week, total hours not to exceed 14.

  • Greet, provide frontline customer service, and refer appropriately based on questions/needs presented by students/partners/faculty/staff/guests.

  • Support the updating and maintenance of schedules, communications, and procedures housed in the Spangler Counter Service Microsoft Teams site.

  • Some light administrative project work that can be completed while concurrently staffing the service counter.
